Jan 17, 2007 Ventura County Fire -- Filmore, California

From 20 miles away I see smoke in the sky. There is another Southern California fire going today.

Right now it is a small fire in a almost dry river bottom. Southern California "rivers" are often dry river beds or narrow streams of water.

This fire is only 2 to 3 acres. The only problem is that we have been having high winds for the last few days. Luckily the winds are down this morning.

The fire is not a major news item at this moment. However there are 24 units on scene. They have stopped forward movement but have zero containment.

If you want to read about it, information is available at:

This link will always work for Ventura County fire incidents, but this particular fire will only be listed while it is active.
